Singapore Experience Award, Best Healthcare Experience Award 2010
ParkwayHealth won the Singapore Experience Awards 2010 (Best Healthcare Experience). The award recognises healthcare institutions which provide medical services to local and international patients and promote Singapore as a healthcare hub. It recognises the contribution to tourism through the provision of good medical services, technology, facilities and support services for patients.
Organised by the Singapore Tourism Board, the Singapore Experience Awards aims to be the most prestigious awards platform in Singapore’s tourism industry, recognising individuals and organisations from sectors encompassing hospitality, retail, dining, entertainment, attractions, business travel and MICE, education and healthcare. Singapore Experience Awards winners will have proven that they are the best in their respective fields in delivering a holistic visitor experience – one that packages product and service delivery to create a distinctive and compelling experience.
Singapore HEALTH (Helping Employees Achieve Life-Time Health) Award 2010
Parkway Hospitals Singapore Pte Ltd and Parkway Shenton Pte Ltd won Gold Awards in the Singapore HEALTH Award 2010, which was organised by the Health Promotion Board to give recognition to organisations with commendable Workplace Health Promotion (WHP) programmes. Medi-Rad Associates Ltd & Parkway Laboratory Services Ltd both won Bronze awards in 2010.
Parkway Health has initiated numerous programmes to encourage their staff to lead healthy lifestyles. Programmes include: pilates, salsa, a qigong lesson, bowling tournament, health screening, mental health talks, smoke cessation roadshows, badminton tournament and a healthy canteen campaign.
Lifelong Learner Award 2008
Parkway Group Healthcare Pte Ltd was among six winners in the Corporate Category of the Lifelong Learning Awards 2008, which were organised by Mediacorp Pte Ltd in collaboration with the Singapore Workforce Development Agency, and partners NTUC and Spring Singapore. The award is in recognition of ParkwayHealth's creation of a work environment which encourages learning and productivity.
As part of ParkwayHealth's talent development initiative, the company has rolled out the Healthcare Executive Residency Program for people who are inspired to establish a career in the field of healthcare. ParkwayHealth has also implemented the performance management process, which encourages openness in performance dialogues between supervisors and employees, so that they can jointly assess performance and identify the employees' learning & development needs.
Asian Hospital Management Award
Gleneagles Hospital has won at the Asian Hospital Management Award for two years running - in 2003 and 2004.
In 2003, it won for the category of "Internal Service", and in 2004, for the category of 'Best Customer Service', where there were over 165 entries covering 56 hospitals from 11 countries vying for the accolade.
Gleneagles understands that customers today have very high expectations of service, hence everyone at the hospital is trained to provide not just five, excel, providing the highest possible level of care and service.
This award affirms their belief that programmes like Greet, Smile and Thank, or 'GST' as it is affectionately called, puts the hospital on the right track in achieving service excellence.
Not only has the 'GST' culture raised service standards, it has also improved staff morale. - and when employees are happy, inspiring customers will come naturally. It is indeed heartening to know that our peers in the healthcare community recognise the success of the 'GST ' programme.
